Termite Control

Termites can be a very serious issue for homes and businesses here in the Southeast. In fact, over $5 billion in damage costs are associated with termites each year! To combat this, Peachtree Pest Control offers a variety of termite protection programs. Each of our solutions is specifically tailored to your home’s construction and individual needs.

Liquid Termite Treatments: The general idea behind liquid treatments is to create a continuous liquid barrier between the soil, where termites live, and your home. This is accomplished by placing products such as TERMIDOR® or PREMISE® into specific areas of your home’s foundation. These termite access points may include masonry block walls or brick voids, slab expansion joints and stress cracks, plumbing penetrations, or even crawlspace areas. Because each structure is uniquely different a Peachtree professional will diagnose your construction style and provide a diagram of the property outlining areas of concern. It is our goal to clearly explain every step of this process so you can make an informed decision about your termite protection program.

Costs associated with liquid treatments often vary greatly. Size of structure and foundation design can be major determining factors in establishing a program cost. Product choice is also something to consider during this process. Peachtree uses only top quality products in our liquid programs. Many of these products have generic equivalents and can be a cost savings for many homeowners without sacrificing quality. Additionally, due to EPA regulations the products available today have a limited lifespan and are designed to breakdown with time and environmental conditions. To maintain protection additional treatments will be required approximately every 10 years.

The conventional approach to termite protection, liquid termite treatments provide many advantages. With decades of university research supporting this technology many customers prefer the liquid treatment option.
Termite Baiting Treatments: An eco-friendly option in termite control programs, termite baiting technology has become an integral part of the pest management industry. Typically, termite baiting programs include the placement of bait stations in the soil around the exterior of your home. These stations are equipped with wood and “baited” cellulose material which termites consume and spread throughout the colony. Due to the social nature of termites and the sharing of food sources the bait’s active ingredient will reduce and eventually eliminate the colony completely, providing long term protection for your home.

Costs associated with the initial application of termite baiting programs tend to be less than their liquid treatment counterparts. However, because the termite stations must be monitored on a quarterly rotation the monitoring fees should be considered in the purchase process. For customers interested in long term solutions and even lifetime warranties, or those seeking environmentally friendly options, termite baiting programs are a great choice.

Combination Termite Treatments: By combining liquid treatments with baiting technology we have created a truly systematic approach to termite control. For example…although liquid products may degrade over time, termite bait stations are permanent. Additionally, liquid products are 100% effective immediately after treatment allowing the baiting systems to begin working…which may take weeks in some cases. This approach truly provides the best aspects of all control options while mitigating the limitations inherent with each.

Surprisingly, costs associated with this option are typically no higher than that of a comparable liquid program. However, because baiting programs require quarterly monitoring the total costs during the life of the program tend to be slightly more. Although not for everyone, combination treatments provide the highest level of protection available today.
